The Issue

On December 26, 2025, countless users, including myself, experienced the unexpected and distressing situation of having our Facebook accounts wrongfully disabled. This action by Meta Platforms, Inc. has left many of us without access to our personal connections, important memories, and community engagements. I, Aumpol, Facebook username 'Ampol Ampol', am one of these affected users. Despite following all the guidelines provided by Facebook, my account remains inaccessible.

When asked to verify my identity, I complied with all Facebook's instructions, providing a clear and well-lit video selfie, turning my head slowly as instructed, to rectify a suspected 'incomplete account' issue. However, post submission, my account status did not change, leaving me in limbo without any form of recourse or updated communication from Facebook.

The wrongful disablement of accounts is not an isolated incident but a recurring issue faced by a significant number of global users. According to a report by The Verge, Facebook deactivated a multitude of accounts for supposed violations, many of which were unfounded. This has resulted in significant emotional distress, disrupted communication, and the loss of personal data for many individuals.

We are calling upon Meta Platforms, Inc. to:

1. Expedite the review and reinstatement process for accounts that have been wrongfully disabled.
2. Provide a transparent and direct communication channel for affected users to inquire about their account status.
3. Implement better measures to distinguish between legitimate accounts and those with genuine policy violations, to avoid similar issues in the future.

By signing this petition, you support the call for Meta to take immediate action to reinstate wrongfully disabled accounts and prevent further distress to its users. We need accountability and efficiency in handling this matter to ensure that Facebook remains a trustworthy platform for everyone. Please sign this petition to help rectify these issues.
