One Uniform For Bangor Central Integrated Primary School

One Uniform For Bangor Central Integrated Primary School
The Issue
As a parent living in a separate home from my childrens' mother we are finding that managing two children in different years at Bangor Central Integrated Primary School, who are mandated to wear either of two uniforms adds to the stress of an already busy and stressful life for us both.
I'm sure Mr. Campbell and the school board will acknowledge the ever increasing number of children, and parents dealing with a similar situation of separation or parents who both have to work full-time to support the family.
Even as a traditional nuclear family it seems unnecessary to put more pressure on already stressed parents in this way.
I'm proposing that Bangor Central Integrated Primary settles on one standard of uniform for P.E. and non-P.E. days.
I personally would find:
tracksuit bottoms/shorts; a school polo shirt; a school jumper and black trainers a much more suitable solution for parents whilst also maintaining a fairly smart and consistent appearance for an Integrated school aiming to function at the highest level in a changing society.
The above is my main motivation however as the father of a young girl I can say that with Child Protection being forced to come more to the fore as a parenting skill, I can't see why a school or it's principle would insist on young girls wearing short skirts.
Parents should not have to dress their 4 and 5 year old girls in shorts under skirts to feel comfortable with them attending Bangor Central Integrated Primary.
Shirts and ties for all pupils, on non-P.E. days seems old fashioned and irrelevant now for the afore mentioned changing society which the school serves.
Please sign the petition and email Mr. Campbell in support of a single uniform structure at Bangor Central Integrated Primary, which eases the lives of parents and protects our children from stressful days of the wrong uniform, and from possible prying eyes when at the school or out and about.
