This petition has been created to force the City of Fort Collins to take immediate and proper action to protect the pedestrians, cyclists and dogs on the Spring Creek Trail. For years this high traffic trail has been terrorized by bikes traveling at 20 mph past kids, dogs, pedestrians and even cyclists exercising proper cycling etiquette. 

There are several blind curves along this trail. There is a turn where bikes pass pedestrians on their left (without an audible warning) and become head on with the bicycle traffic coming towards them on the right. Dogs paws have been run over, kids stopping to tie their shoes are narrowly missed, bird watchers stand on the side of the trail to take pictures at their own risk. 

There is plenty trail for everyone to enjoy, even the cyclists. All this petition is asking for is signage. The city responded to my pleas with one sign about 8 1/2 X 11. This is far from sufficient. The safety concern is urgent! The city's continuous and willful disregard of this dire issue; knowingly ignoring this outrageous tragedy waiting to happen, illustrates how negligent and lazy the City Manger is about protecting the residents of Fort Collins. Hopefully this petition will help encourage the City of Fort Collins to take action.
