On 22nd September 2016 at the Royal Courts of Justice London The Hon Mrs Justice Lang DBE granted the right to proceed to full Judicial Review. Oldham Council employed a leading Silk to defend the hearing and to stop us gaining a Judicial Review; but the court found in our favour. It goes without saying that none of this could have happened without the loyal support financially and morally of all of our supporters. What needs to be added is that everyone of us wants a new school for Saddleworth - but in the right place. Ironically if the existing site in Uppermill, which was supported by an overwhelming opinion poll and submissions to the planning department was acted upon the new school would have been up and running by now. The delay is Oldham Council's obdurate lack of openness to listen to the real views of our local community. It is a substantial challenge to obtain a favourable stage one Judicial Review hearing and it goes without saying that none of this could have happened without the loyal support, financially and morally of all of our supporters.
