A decision has been made by Old Catton Parish Council to remove a piece of play equipment from Old Catton Recreation Ground. On the face of it this seems an ill considered solution. This is a very new piece of equipment and there does not appear to have been much thought given to alternative solutions of the noise problem reported by a small number of residents whose properties back onto the recreation ground. The residents of Old Catton and surrounding areas who use the equipment urge the council to reconsider their decision pledge to work with them to resolve this matter in another way.
