Roger Parker started this petition to Ohio Governor and

New $110 and $200 Ohio license plate fees are punitive to owners of electric and hybrid cars.
Drivers of hybrid and electric cars should not be punished for investing in the protection the environment.
As an example, a Prius averages 45 MPG, not 450, so owners already pay gasoline taxes and license plate fees just like any other Ohioan.  There are many conventionally powered compact cars that offer similar or better mileage.
As a general rule, hybrids and electric cars are lighter than average vehicles, so they create less wear and tear on roadways we now have to pay more than everyone else to use.  If any vehicle owner should start paying more for registration, it should be for heavier vehicles creating the damage.
This fee also appears to be part of the strange Republican obsession to do whatever is possible to roll back environmental protections and to avoid progress on alternative energy and reducing our carbon usage.
Why would Ohio choose to punish Ohioans who are trying to be environmentally friendly?
Why would Ohio choose to not consider the future of the planet?
This unfair and disproportional tax needs to be repealed.
