On Monday, May 11, 2020, Dr. Amy Acton clearly stated that is was unsafe for a child to wear a face mask / covering. On May 21, 2020, the State of Ohio put out their regulations for youth summer sports. One of the regulations requires all coaches and players to wear face masks / coverings while in the dugout. With temperatures in the 90's in the summer, this is extremely unsafe practice. Also, once a mask / face covering is placed on one's face, it should not be removed and one's face should not be touched. With the current regulations, this will happen at least 7 times per game. This petition is to remove the mandate of face masks / coverings and instead, making it a recommendation.
