I made this petition in hopes that the IX Indoor Amusement Park would re-open, but I need your help! 

COVID-19 caused a lot of change. Some changes  have been more devastating than others.

This is a petition regarding a place that has been well-known and attended for over 30 years in Ohio: The IX Indoor Amusement Park.

I’m writing this petition as a 26 year old who has been attending this amusement park ever since I was 2. My mother used to take me and my sister every year, until we were old enough to go just with each other.

If you were raised in Ohio, chances are you’ve seen the catchy commercial jingle that blessed our presence every year around the beginning of Spring: the announcement of the amusement park reopening its doors for its due season. It was an exciting time to see the snow begin to melt away and anticipate the thrill of knowing that the IX re-opening was right around the corner. Spring is a time of rebirth and regeneration, and the IX indoor amusement park added excitement and joy to the season’s beginning.

I understand that there are many other things to worry and petition about, but I personally feel led to write about the IX. It has been a tradition every year to get out of the house and just have a fun, safe time riding thrill attractions and eating funnel cakes and elephant ears. It gave us something to look forward to after a harsh winter, which can be depressing for some due to the minimal amount of sunlight.

I’ve never written a petition before, so I’m not exactly sure how technical or precise I need to be. But I am writing from an honest and pleading heart, to please re-open the doors of the IX Indoor amusement park. Many of us grew up with this theme park and it has long been a tradition in our lives that we wish may continue. Thank you.
