Recently, there has been a raccoon in my attic. The Ohio law states that you cannot relocate a “nuisance” animal. It must be killed or set free on site. For many, setting them free on site means the animal will likely come back and cause further damage. The safety of these animals should be a priority. This animal comes in my attic at night, likely trying to stay warm. There are many wild animals that are trapped and killed. Animals should not suffer just because they grew brave enough to approach our houses. I hope that one day relocating them will be legalized.
