We, the families of Ogden Dunes, are concerned for the well-being of our children, for the safety of our property and for our overall  quality of life.

Outside developers have proposed to pave over the green Solar System Trail in town and turn it into an interstate bicycle path. The Town will not own the path, will receive nothing in return for it but will be responsible for its maintenance in perpetuity (FOREVER). The plan brings NO NEW BENEFITS to the residents of Ogden Dunes

The path will connect to others, extending FROM CHICAGO TO MICHIGAN, that will bring into town THOUSANDS OF CYCLISTS a week. This will certainly make our homes and families LESS SAFE & SECURE.

Construction of the bike path will DESTROY A PEACEFUL GREEN SPACE that has been treasured by children, adults and pets alike for decades.

NO STUDY HAS BEEN CONDUCTED to determine what ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT the bike path will have on neighboring homes. NEARBY HOMEOWNERS have NOT BEEN CONSULTED by the developers nor their proponents on the Town Council.

We are petitioning the members of the Ogden Dunes Town Council to PROTECT OUR FAMILIES & PROPERTIES and to preserve our town's peaceful green spaces.

In the spirit of great conservationists, like Diane of the Dunes & Dorothy Buell, VOTE NO on any proposal to support or allow the Marquette Greenway in Ogden Dunes.
