KP is attempting to create a make-shift COVID unit at SMC that will serve strictly a  med/surg level of care population of COVID+ patents. A 3:1 nurse:patient ratio was initially discussed and agreed upon with Labor Partner Christine Sciscione, and Contract Specialist, Jaime Lorenzo.

Today, Christina Craniac has submitted in writing that they plan on violating that verbal agreement and states that the ratio will be 4:1 - with extra support staff/runners. This is not acceptable to OFNHP Nursing Leadership and not what was agreed to in Partnership. Please sign this petition to support opening this unit ONLY with 3:1 nursing ratio, 6:1 CNA ratio, and a Charge RN who does not take a patient load. There are other demands to be met - like not sharing equipment between this unit and other units, etc.
