Tau Ceti e is a potential exoplanet orbiting the star Tau Ceti, 11.9 light-years from Earth. In Andy Weir's 2021 book Project Hail Mary and the 2026 movie adaptation, this star is named by the protagonists Ryland Grace and Rocky as Adrian, after the alien's mate, and the character from the Rocky franchise.

The movie has had a significant cultural impact in a very short timeframe, and the distance/insignificance of Tau Ceti e means that renaming the planet would have no negative outcomes. 

I believe that renaming the planet would allow people to easily explore the subject of exoplanets via the book and movie, bringing more interest to astronomy.

To quote Rocky the Eridian, "Name of planet, Tau Ceti e, is same name as star, plus E. Boring!"
