This is crazy! Censorship, Blacklisting, Suppression, Shadow-Banning, & Information Control on Social Media & the Internet. We have to get organized! No longer can we stand by & hope someone else will take care of it for us!
The harm done to our local economy & businesses will be incalculable. The cost to advertise will double or triple by taking this station off the market. Some will no longer be able to advertise at all due to the lack of available space caused by competition being removed from the marketplace. The FCC is required to challenge all transactions that lesson competition. This sale is Destructive to our Community.
Current programming is unmatched by TV or Radio. It has local & national news, weather, sports, & community events. It has just the right mix of comedy to keep things lite. There are educational spots throughout the week with the vast majority over the weekend accented by Public Service programming. Toy drives & fund raisers for the community are common. Most importantly the local voices will be silenced. The FCC values Diversity. The current talent on 106.7 has transformed 300,000+ locals into one tight-knit family & we will not go away quietly.
Cumulus & EMF have the burden of demonstrating that this transaction is in the public interest. As per the FCC guide lines, this transaction would not serve the public interest, convenience, & necessity as required by the FCC.
I can't express how important it is to get your State & Federal Representatives involved. Call, write, or email them... Let them know you want this takeover STOPPED!!! But do it nicely. They can't help if you don't let them know how you feel. Don't let up they need to hear from you more than once.
In Alabama WYDE 101.1, a "100kw SuperStation" broadcasting Conservative Talk Radio, was replaced Nov 2nd 2018 by religious programing. Make no mistake... they are coming for our voice 1 by 1. Read their posts; see how the loss has affected their community; they are crying at their loss; begging to have their station back. Don't let it happen here!
