The Issue
- MMRDA proposed construction of bridge on Gorai creek in Borivali West area ,Mumbai - 400 091. If bridge will be constructed , it will destroy nature at Gorai village. It will affect local fishermen, rickshaw pullers , horse safari riders , village culture. Most importantly it will destroy mangroves which protect Gorai village and Mumbai from Tsunami. Gorai area is a green lungs of Borivali. If that will be destroyed, the problem of pure air to breathe will be a big issue. Kindly sign petition to stop proposed bridge on Gorai creek.
The residents of Borivali West can write a letter to Additional commission, Mumbai R Central ward, BMC office to state the objection. The government given a dead line to raise objections till 2 December 2021. Kindly give your objections regarding it.
The article in Maharashtra Times newspaper , Mumbai edition published on 20 November 2021. The article explains the concerns of this proposed construction to environment and to the locals at Gorai village. There is a builder lobby that will destroy the green lungs of Borivali West . There is a threat that Gorai village will be the concrete jungle in coming up future. The future generation will going to miss out natural beauty, flora & fauna forever. It is the people of Borivali West region and Gorai village who will going to suffer because of this proposed construction. All the mangroves & trees will be chopped off for construction purpose . The water beneath the mangroves will be filled up with debris for the sake of construction. The whole village area and natural beauty surrounding it will vanish forever. The Gorai village is the last resort for the people of Borivali to have a peace of mind and natural pure air. If bridge comes up on Gorai creek ; construction will going to happen and nature will be destroyed. The calmness , peace of mind , pure air will become history.Kindly raise voice to stop this proposed construction. I give invitations to everyone to do visit Gorai village , see the beauty of nature and then think about consequences of this proposed bridge construction. Thank you all my dear friends for giving your valuable time . It’s high time now. If we don’t preserve the nature, nature will not going to forgive us. Corona pandemic is the best example of it.
