—DO NOT DONATE MONEY, WE JUST NEED SIGNATURES -

I was very excited to earn a graphic design skills certificate to help me advance in my marketing career. I only recently learned that I am only able to take the intro class because there are no other courses available in the evening or online/asynchronous. I would love to continue on the graphic design pathway, but cannot attend in-person classes during work hours.

This frustrating situation is not unique to me. Many working adults at Mt Sac, face the same challenge. We have a strong desire to further our education in graphic design, especially to enhance our careers, but we're hindered by the lack of flexible course options. Currently, the only evening option is the introductory class, with all subsequent courses scheduled during traditional work hours, making it nearly impossible for those of us with 9-to-5 jobs to attend.

Graphic design is an essential skill in today's job market, contributing significantly to fields such as marketing, advertising, and digital media. To meet this demand and help individuals like myself pursue our goals, Mt Sac must provide more accessible learning opportunities.

Both evening classes and online asynchronous courses could provide the flexibility needed for working professionals. Online classes, in particular, allow students to learn at their own pace and on their own schedules, which is beneficial for balancing work, family, and education.

By signing this petition, you are supporting the call for more accommodating graphic design courses that cater to the needs of all students, not just those who can attend daytime classes. This change will empower many Mt Sac students to advance their careers and develop vital skills necessary for success in various industries. Sign now to make flexible and inclusive graphic design education a reality.
