Over the past few months state Governors and Members of Congress have regularly shown their support for K-12 computer science. Watch the video of statements made by almost a dozen bipartisan governors from states like Arkansas, Virginia, or Kentucky, all talking about the importance of this field.
Members of Congress from both sides of the aisle have been engaging with students and teachers in their respective states to learn more about the computer science activities happening in K-12 classrooms. For example, Senator John Boozman (R-AK) recently participated in a coding session with students at Rogers High School in Arkansas. And, Sen. Patty Murray (D-WA) visited a computer science classroom in Seattle last week, where Ruthe Farmer from the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy also attended.
Despite the divided nature of our politics, elected officials from both sides of the aisle agree on computer science.
