Todd Maddison For School Board Community Meet the Candidate and Survey!

Oceanside Parent!
As everyone who signed our petition knows, to do our best making education work for our kids, we need our community’s voices to be heard.
As a candidate for School Board this Fall I want to know what you think.
The best way to do that is to meet you!
I’m planning a nice, masked-and-socially-distanced gathering this coming Saturday, September 26th, starting at 10am in Martin Luther King Park at 4300 Mesa Dr, Oceanside, CA 92057. We’ll meet under one of the picnic bench structures in the shade.
If you’d like to have a chat with your future Board member, I’d love to have that talk with you!
You can click here to sign up with EventBrite to let me know you’re coming so I can bring bottles of water and popsicles for the kids!
Look forward to see you there!
If you can’t make it (or even if you can and want to give more specifics), I’m taking a survey to help set my future priorities.
We’ve seen many surveys by the District, often strategically avoid asking difficult questions. They’ve learned the rule that “you don’t ask a question if you don’t want to hear the answer.”
My background is a bit different.
I spent decades managing customer service for retailers. The most important questions to ask are the ones you don’t want to hear answers on – because those are the things your customers are unhappy about.
No successful private business ever became successful ignoring it’s customers.
In Oceanside, we’ve seen for some time now. Parents are taking their kids out of our schools because they feel their kids’ needs are not being met. And their surveys often fail to face that reality, deliberately avoiding asking difficult questions.
I’m different. I want to hear from you.
Can you please take a survey to let me know how you feel about education in Oceanside? When I take a seat on the Board, I want to have a ready-to-go list of priorities to help hit the ground running.
And please pass this on to your friends, neighbors, other parents, social media, etc – the more voices we hear the better!
Let’s make community voices heard!
