Tell OUSD to manage growth at Ivey Ranch Elementary before its too late!

The Issue

Sign this petition to tell OUSD School Board members that Ivey Ranch Elementary needs smaller class sizes, new permanent classrooms and a new playground before the OUSD School Board meets and votes on March 8, 2016!

Our Coyotes and teachers desperately need you to help make their voices heard! No more trailer classrooms for Ivey Ranch!

Ivey Ranch Elementary School's ability to serve its students will continue to be compromised if the School Board does not act to limit and manage the size of the school. With an expected growth of an additional 200 students as new  home projects are completed in the next 1-3 years, the School Board's current plan is to add more trailer classrooms and build a new playground. (See the 3/1/16 Board Facilities meeting agenda at http://www.oside.k12.ca.us/boardmeetings ) The school is already over capacity. Before 2010, class sizes averaged 23 students per classroom. Since 2010, the average class size has ballooned to 28 students. Adding additional students through School of Choice and growth of our community is affecting the learning environment at Ivey Ranch Elementary. School size can be managed with re-districting the new housing developments for another elementary school and stopping new applications for School of Choice for Ivey Ranch Elementary.

Sign the petition to tell the OUSD School Board that Ivey Ranch Elementary needs a 2-story permanent classroom expansion and a new playground! No more trailers! Cap enrollment at 800 students and reduce class sizes!
