OC Animals Deserve A Chance

OC Animals Deserve A Chance
The Issue
There is not enough resources for the OC Animal Care to become a "no" or "low" kill animal shelter. We, the youth of today and animal lovers need to start changing animal shelters that kill. Animals have lives just like us. Why is that we receive welfare/money to be able to get the four basic necessities for life but when shelters don't have the money they just kill the animals. We must have a voice for those who don't have one. Orange County’s main animal shelter is putting down more than a third of the animals that come through its doors, a death rate that has animal advocates sounding alarms. Of the 2,050 animals entering the county government’s sole shelter in October, 725 were euthanized, or put down according to data from shelter officials. That makes for a euthanasia rate of 35 percent, compared with 22 percent in San Jose or as low as 3 to 5 percent in so-called "no-kill" communities like Austin and Kansas City. Right now, we are focusing on making the OC Animal Care "no kill". Next, the rest of the United States. In order to make the OC Animal Care Shelter "kill-free" we must raise not only awareness, but funds to help supply resources for the animals. Be the voice for those who don't have one.
