Summary of application for a new premises licence 

The application requests authorisation for the following licensable activity and characterises the business as a grocery store: 

SUPPLY OF ALCOHOL 

Monday to Sunday – 07:00 until 02:00 (the following day) 

HOURS PREMISES ARE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC 

Monday to Sunday – 07:00 until 02:00 (the following day) 

This shop is below a residential block and close to many other new residential developments .it is also beside and the new south station entrance.  

This zone is earmarked to have millions spent on the Ilford Western Gateway project. Any late alcohol licenses will have a detrimental effect on the regeneration project and affect the quality of life of the families above and nearby. 

Having late-night premises in heavily populated residential areas is not in the local community's best interests. We already have an issue with ASB and street drinkers in the new flats with street drinkers who are littering the landscaping and using the new area as a toilet. This is happening directly on Ilford Hill and at the rear of the building at the new South Station entrance. 

Although we welcome the use of the premises as a convenience store, we hope the committee will take responsible action on behalf of residents by limiting the hours for retail units to operate and strictly limiting timings or banning alcohol sales so close to people's homes.  

 

We strongly object to any extended alcohol or gambling licenses that compound problems in an area already designated as a CIZ (Cumulative Impact Zone )
