Braintree District Council is debating the introduction of a Green Waste Collection charge on 13th March 2023. There has been little to no warning or advertising of this proposed 'stealth tax' on garden waste.

The restrictions being placed on visiting Braintree Recycling Centre to an online booking based on availability and at least 24 hours in advance is going to force many of the, predominantly elderly, residents into no choice by the pay the charge for the disposal of their garden waste.

This petition will be emailed to local councillors on 12th March to make our feelings known.
