We did it - and we need to keep going.

We asked Oakville Town Council to pass an Interim Control Bylaw (ICBL) to pause data centre development in our community. Council passed it. Because of the 800 people who signed, spoke up, and stood together, data centres are now paused for one year.
This is proof that when a community shows up as a collective voice, we are powerful.
But the work isn’t done. Under the Planning Act, HIVE: the company that purchased land here and has publicly promoted a data centre on it has a 50-day window to appeal this decision. We need to keep demonstrating strong public opposition.
If you haven’t signed yet, please sign and share. Every signature matters.
We also need expert help to make sure our community is fully informed and protected. If you are a professional in any of these areas and are willing to lend your expertise, please reach out to me: celinacloseliving@gmail.com:

We’ve shown what we can do together. Let’s keep building on it.
Thank you,
Celina
