Mandatory vaccinations have been announced for health care staff in New Zealand. We have the right to refuse medical treatment and have had no other alternative options offered to us. Health care and the government have offered NO other preventative medicine i.e. lifestyle and nutritional therapy, to staff or the public as a whole - there is a wealth of evidence based research / practice in this area to boost and support immune health. Vaccines are medications and like most other medications they have adverse effects, some serious, this vaccine is still in it's clinical trials. There is no informed consent or long term safety testing. Some staff are unable to take it due to concern of adverse effects or past medical conditions. This no jab no job is forcing staff out of a job in an area that is chronically short staffed. This mandating system is discriminatory in nature and should not be allowed to continue. It does not fit the "Be kind" rhetoric narrated by the government, lacks compassion or respect for those staff that have worked diligently through out the pandemic.
