Help Get Grant Funding for a Trade and Barter App @ NYU (TradeMade)

Help Get Grant Funding for a Trade and Barter App @ NYU (TradeMade)
The Issue
The goal of TradeMade is to revolutionize the second-hand marketplace, in effort to decrease the desirability of buying material goods new and increase the desirability of finding them used.
TradeMade allows users to:
1) Barter and trade used material goods and services/tasks.
Users of the platform will upload a list of “wants” and a list of “haves”; based on this information users can trade material goods for other material goods (e.g. a t-shirt for a book), or they can trade material goods for services/tasks (such as: tutoring, music lessons, delivery/pick-ups and errands).
2) Learn about the carbon footprints of the items they trade.
To educate the public on the environmental impact of specific items, we will provide the carbon footprints of specific items uploaded onto the platform. We plan to employ this tool as a means to raise environmental awareness around the implications of one’s consumption choices.
TradeMade is predicated on the notion that to shift toward more ecologically conscious modes of resource utilization, waste and consumption must be reduced. Given the subjectivity of value, we believe there is a way for everyone to attain the material goods they want and need without buying new products, making use of what is already circulating in the material economy.
We need your support! Please sign our petition so NYU Green Grants will fund this project. By signing this petition you are telling them that you desire and are interested and willing to use a platform like this. Thank you for your support!
