Access to More Floors in 370 Jay Street for ONLY Tandon Engineering Students

The Issue

The sense of community in Tandon is already very loose and dispersed, especially after the pandemic. Paying relatively the same amount of tuition as NYU students attending the Manhattan campus, we do not have access to as many study spaces as well as areas to build community. Specifically, newly renovated floors in 370 Jay Street are mostly empty and unused besides certain departmental floors (advising, etc...). The other buildings that are a part of the Brooklyn campus such as various buildings located in the Metrotech Area close the latest being 11 pm. Not only does this cause students in Brooklyn to feel more alone, but the amount of public spaces(specifically study spaces) of being an undergraduate student in NYU is not being received. That has to change!
