End Promoting Negative Stereotyping of Italian Americans

The Issue

Italian Americans are the last group left in this Country that it is acceptable to negatively stereotype. It is done on a daily basis in the movies, books, tv shows and video games. Now, the New York City Department of Education is allowing a book to remain on its "approved list" called "Al Capone Does My Shirts". Our children are inundated with organized crime figures constantly. For the DOE to have this book on their "approved list"  only reinforces the stereotype, to these young impression minds. No other group would allow this and neither should we. Let Chancellor Farina know you're upset.
