Update on the trial for the murder of Evan Sorour.

The trial started on 12 February 2024 and finished on 23 February 2024. Rudi Gericke (the accused) appeared in court with his advocate, Willem Edeling, and attorney Morkel Venter.

The judgement.
On Charge 1: the accused was found guilty of assault GBH of Reuter Sorour (Evan's father)
On Charge 2: the accused was found not guilty of attempted murder of Reuter.
On Charge 3: the accused was found guilty of the murder of Evan Sorour.

The court was adjourned until 18 and 19 April 2024 for sentencing.
Rudi Gericke remains in custody.

Rudi Gericke's friend and business partner, Kleinjan le Grange will have to stand trial again on the 15-17 May for the assault on Morgan Barret and others. We trust the law will also sentence Kleinjan le Grange to the fullest.
