On December 8th, the Novato Planning Commission voted “yes” on closing the process of accepting comments on the draft Environmental Report (DEIR) of the Costco Mega Gas Station. It directed the staff to prepare the final EIR. Thanks to strong collaborations with our allies, No New Gas Novato, MCL, Sustainable Groups, Watershed Alliance of Marin, 350 Bay Area, and concerned residents, the City received substantive criticisms about the DEIR and its findings, expressing fierce opposition to the project. Novato’s Planning Commission anticipates the final Environmental Impact Report (EIR) to be released for review no earlier than January 26th. There will be another public hearing at their meeting. We'll keep you posted, and let’s keep up the good fight.
