Green lights for volunteer firefighters in Nova Scotia

Green lights for volunteer firefighters in Nova Scotia

The Issue

On behalf of volunteer firefighters in nova scotia we are looking for the adoption of green flashing lights for volunteer firefighters responding to emergency calls.

Have you ever been traveling on a road maybe on a time crunch and get behind that "Sunday driver" who always seems to do well under the speed limit. Then I'm sure you know how annoying it is. So now imagine you were traveling to an emergency situation when time is of the upmost importance and you come up behind these slow drivers. When minutes and seconds could be the difference between life or death for a loved one.

The green light that would be displayed will alert other drivers that we are trying to get to a emergency and while not giving any extra rights such as speeding etc. It would allow other motorists to pull over therfore allowing us to make it to the fire hall in a timely manner. EVERY MINUTE COUNTS. THE LIFE WE SAVE COULD BE YOURS
