Dear fellow anglers. I've been striped bass fishing for years and years now and I would say this is the worst year I've seen so far. I've been to all popular spot from Grand pre to Bass river and I go different spot all the time when I go out. 1st, I've seen people leaving their trash to the worst level. 2nd, people don't know how to handle undersized fish, they will just toss it after unhooking it. 3rd the worst part is POACHING (keeping undersized fish/ taking more than 1 fish per day) and this really breaks my heart. I am aware that in some county that they have different size limit but I am talking to Grand Pre area to Noel shore. Lots of poaching are happening during night time and I've seen it myself. There is a place somewhere in Noel by the farmland and the poaching there at night are really RAMPANT. I've also witnessed in some areas in Shubenacadie. I hope the DFO will do something about it. I am creating this petition to protect this world class fish and I am calling to all REAL ANGLERS here, real people that love this species,to all people who really are passionate about fishing, to all the fishing associations here in Nova Scotia to PLEASE spread this message so it will reach the right authorities. Guys if you want to see these species in the next few years we should protect it. I am pretty sure that there are some members of this page who are doing this illegal activities ang this message is for you guys SHAME ON YOU. Starting today I will be reporting people,taking picture of your license plate and even yourself and will send it to the authorities if I witness this UNACCEPTABLE ACT.
