Pelican Crossings around our Schools in West Bridgford.

Pelican Crossings around our Schools in West Bridgford.
Taking our children to school should be easy and using a zebra crossing without fear should be the norm. However, the number of buses, vans or cars failing to stop, has been going on for far too long making it dangerous.
We shouldn't have to wait for a severe or even fatal incident to occur involving any parent or child
It's sad, and it's disappointing that for too long, and despite Facebook groups, and consultations the issue of the crossings in West Bridgford hasn't been resolved by Nottinghamshire County Council.
The crossings on Melton Road (near Sainsbury's Garage), Rectory Road, and two crossings on Bridgford Road (Co-op and The Library) are all in range of both West Bridgford Infants (242 children) and West Bridgford Junior School (352 children). Over 500 Parents and children are using one or more of these crossings daily.
We are asking for serious consideration from Nottinghamshire County Council to upgrade the zebra crossings to Pelican crossings to make it safer for children, parents and all those in our community.
