Demand ‘No Swimming Dangerous Under Current’ signs along The River Trent.

No swimming danger signs need to be placed along the River Trent to deter anyone from entering it. The river looks calm but the under current is extremely strong. Too many lives have been lost by people not realising the dangers. Also more life rings need to be available along the riverbank. Although these are present there could be more of them. 

On the 26th August 2019 two males decided to swim across the river. Sadly they didn’t realise just how strong the current is and one of the males was taken under and lost his life. This isn’t the first person to lose their life here and probably won’t be the last. But more could be done to warn people to the dangers of the water. Please let’s try and get these signs in place along all dangerous waters especially the River Trent.

Remember not everyone is aware of the calm looking rivers under current.
