Several top political appointees — including Attorney General Pam Bondi, Stephen Miller, Rubio and Kristi Noem — have moved into taxpayer-funded military housing in the Washington area.

While officials cite security concerns, it remains unclear how much taxpayers are subsidizing these accommodations. Military housing exists to support service members and national defense — not to provide luxury or convenience for political appointees.

If these officials choose to live on military bases, they should fully reimburse taxpayers at verified fair-market rates, including security, utilities, and maintenance costs. The American people should not be footing the bill for political housing arrangements.

Security is important. Transparency and fiscal responsibility are too.

We call on the Department of Defense and Congress to immediately disclose the full costs associated with housing political appointees on military bases and ensure taxpayers are not subsidizing their living expenses.
