Former comedy writer Graham Linehan has recieved Honarary degrees from both the University of East Anglia and Norwich University of the Arts. He received these because of writing shows such as Father Ted and The IT Crowd and his contributions to television comedy. Yet now Mr Linehan spends the majority of his time making the lives of trans and non-binary individuals a living hell. He spends his time harassing individuals on twitter, creating hate mobs and hate campaigns on people who are simply fighting for their rights. He constantly misgenders, and belittled people. He has gone on the BBC to justify his comparisons to Trans consultations to that of Nazi experiments.

This isn't what Universities should be acknowledging. When he was given these honorary degrees it was for his contribution to the arts, but what message does it send to the community of LGBTQ+ students especially people who are trans and non-binary, at how this man is tarnishing his reputation with unbridled hate. The man isn't simply trying to start a debate he is trying to erase the voices of a community.
