The Issue
The people of Afghanistan do not recognize the illegitimate occupation of the Taliban terrorist group as their government. They yet again prove to be a tyrannical and fascist regime for the reasons listed below.
1. Human Rights Violation
Every basic human right for men, women, and children has been violated since the Taliban takeover.
2. No Freedom of Speech
Every individual, who raises their voice is silenced by systemic oppression, many are abducted and imprisoned without due diligence or real judicial process, some are disappearing completely without any trace. For example, Faizullah Jalal, a university lecturer was abducted from his home on January 8, 2022, though was later released. Human rights defenders Tamana Zaryab Paryani and Parwana Ibrahim Khel have gone missing by the Taliban since 19 January 2022.
3. No Right to Protest
As recently as the last few days, several female activists participated in one of the demonstrations, demanding their basic human rights and chanting “Food, Work, and Freedom”. The Taliban have raided the houses of these women activists such as Tamana Zaryab Paryani and Parwana Ibrahim Khel in the middle of the night, abducted them, and taken them to unknown locations.
4. No Freedom of Press
Afghanistan has become the most dangerous country in the world for journalists, many reporters were beaten and tortured in the past few months. There are armed Taliban soldiers in every news studio, whose job is to directly censor the content of News broadcasts every day.
5. Discrimination of Humanitarian Aid Distribution
Taliban have been stealing humanitarian aid and distributing or selling it among their own people, who include the families of suicide bombers and their fighters. The unequal distribution of aid is one of the main causes of the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan, especially in the ethnic and historically persecuted, marginalized, and vulnerable groups, such as the Hazara community in Daikundi province.
6. Forced Displacements
Native people of Afghanistan have been forcefully displaced by the Taliban since the 15th of August. Thousands of families in rural areas especially in Hazara (Daikundi) and Uzbek provinces have lost their homes, property, and crops, which is usually the only source of their income. Taliban commanders and fighters have confiscated those lands and properties and distributed them among their own ethnicity members.
7. The Hazara Genocide and Multi-Ethnic Cleansing
The Hazaras have been systematically and historically persecuted, marginalized, and killed. Taliban committed genocide against the Hazaras in Mazar-e Sharif on 8 August 1998, killing between 8-12 thousand Hazaras. The Hazara Genocide continues until today and since the fall of Afghanistan on 15 Aug 2021, successive systematic attacks have targeted Hazaras in mosques in Kunduz, Kandahar, Kabul, and Herat. Hazaras are at more risk of genocide than ever before under the Taliban regime. Taliban have also committed war crimes, ethnic cleansing, and atrocities in Panjsher by killing, abducting, and torturing innocent people. Taliban have also abducted, tortured, and killed civilians and individuals from Pashtun, Baloch, Uzbek, and other ethnicities just to secure and maintain their power in Afghanistan.
8. Mass Killing of Former ANDSF Officers
Despite being promised general amnesty, there have been mass killings of former ANDSF soldiers, many have been abducted and tortured. A good example of such atrocities is the torturing brutally and killing of two former ANDSF officers from the same family in Nangarhar province.
9. Education Blackout
It has been 126 days since the Taliban announced that all boys across the country and girls under the age of 12 could return to school. However, teenage girls in most provinces have been denied this basic human right to education due to dubious security and gender apartheid reasons. Systematic discrimination against girls and women in Afghanistan to be deprived of education is a clear violation of Human Rights and the world must take action against the Taliban’s discriminatory policies.
10. Suicide Culture and Child Soldiers
The Badri and Mansuri suicide special forces of the Taliban glorify and promote child soldiers, as well as using suicide culture to recruit more suicide bombers, who include teenagers, young adults, and even children. Suicide attacks are contrary to Islam and promote a global terror and violent movement that can potentially influence a worldwide human catastrophe.

Given all of this, we demand that the Norwegian government to:
- Reject the Taliban and refrain from making any negotiations and aiding in their path to legitimacy. We as the people of Afghanistan and the Diaspora population believe that Norway’s invitation to the Taliban paves the road for the Taliban’s normalization and recognition.
- Stand by the people of Afghanistan, especially women and children who are subject to discrimination, violence, insecurity, terror, conflict and war.
- Help people of Afghanistan from starvation and human crisis without involving the Taliban because any involvement of the Taliban in any affairs leads to the group’s legitimacy, normalization and gradual recognition
- Protect the marginalized and persecuted ethnicities such as the Hazaras, Sikhs, Hindus and others who have been subject to persecution and discrimination for a long time in Afghanistan due to their ethnic and religious differences.
- Pressure Taliban to respect and protect Human Rights especially Women’s and Children’s rights.
- Pressure and call on Taliban to accept the establishment of a fair, democratic and federal Afghanistan where the power and resources are equally and fairly distributed among the people and people elect their government without being forced or threatened by any group.
- Call on Taliban to respect Freedom of Speech and Press and release immediately and unconditionally former government-affiliated individuals, human rights and women’s rights defenders especially Alia Azizi, Tamana Zaryab Paryani, Parwana Ibrahim Khel and many others.
- Pressure on Taliban to not let Afghanistan become a safe haven for regional and international terrorist networks such as Al Qaeda, The Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan, The Islamic Jihad Union and other regional and international terrorist groups. Also, call on the Taliban to lose all ties with these terrorists.
