Release Steve Wilkos Guest Samantha Delcamp from Prison

Release Steve Wilkos Guest Samantha Delcamp from Prison
The Issue
Although we at the "Truth About Steve Wilkos: Can You Handle it?" YouTube Channel are deeply sorry about the tragic death that befell 3-year-old Arabella Parker, and have much respect for the grieving families of this innocent and precious child — as survivors of domestic violence ourselves, we simply cannot take the unfair treatment of Arabella's mother, Samantha Delcamp, lying down.
Ms. Delcamp previously appeared as a guest on the popular reality television series "The Steve Wilkos Show", seeking assistance in regards to the domestic abuse she and her daughter were suffering at the hands of Delcamp's then-boyfriend, Jahrid Burgess; however, rather than help her as promised, TV host Steve Wilkos viciously reabused and retraumatized Ms. Delcamp by publicly victim-shaming and victim-blaming her, and even virtually adding to the physical abuse she had already received by her abuser by throwing torn-up pieces of paper at her:
We believe that the show should have provided a therapist or an advocate well-trained in domestic abuse situations to speak to Ms. Delcamp in a professional and constructive manner, not a belligerent former police officer with obvious anger issues and a vendetta against women, who has in fact been known to bully other suffering women on his stage from before... and has shown a disturbing history of sensationalizing the stories of his oppressed guests for money and ratings, which ultimately led to another innocent woman's near death:
Viewers of the above Wilkos video might note that commenters are childishly ridiculing Ms. Delcamp and giving her far more judgment, hate, and condemnation than they are the actual abuser, Burgess. While it is understandable that others would be upset over little Arabella's horrid death, we find it inappropriate and unjust of others to completely blame the mother, who was clearly being victimized herself, and is already coping with horrendous emotional pain as it is. Those who exacerbate this woman's grief in this way can't be all that much better than her abuser....or Mr. Wilkos.
The following article explains why victims of domestic abuse often find themselves trapped in their situations, and why they often can't "just leave":
The following video also further delineates the reasons that victims of domestic violence frequently stay with their abusers, and reveals why a victim's situation is usually far more complicated and dynamic than those who judge his/her plight from the outside-in, rather than from the inside-out, may ever understand....especially if they themselves have never walked a mile in a victim's shoes:
We hope that the justice system handling this case will show Ms. Delcamp the proper amount of empathy by sentencing her to counseling, domestic violence survivors courses, drug rehabilitation, or whatever else she needs, instead of "prison without parole". Sentencing this abuse survivor in this way will convey a horrible message that further reinforces abusers, makes victims all that much more frightened to report being abused, and propagates the malicious and wrongful reasonings that if a victim remains in an abusive relationship, then he/she deserves to be abused and reabused. The person who deserves the harsh sentencing should be the main abuser, Burgess himself.
We also hope that an advocate for domestic abuse victims/survivors from the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 800-799-7233 will come forward and speak on Ms. Delcamp's behalf.
Further, we urge domestic abuse survivors to contact the above number if they are also suffering from domestic abuse and are in need of an effective safety plan. Please do NOT turn to Steve Wilkos for help, as he will only make your crisis even worse.
We also encourage survivors to share their own stories of domestic violence to further show why leaving an abusive relationship is not only not always easy, but in some cases, impossible... even dangerous. Choosing to inflict harm on another human being in any way is a conscious decision on the part of the batterer and there is absolutely no excuse or justification for this behavior.
Battered man/woman syndrome is very real, whether others understand that or not. People are going to be who they are whether others deal with them or they don't; if Mr. Burgess had not done this to Samantha and Arabella, he would have done so to another mother and child, and in blaming Samantha for his actions, you are very likely repeating what Burgess may have told her: "It is your fault I abuse you and your daughter."
To conclude, those of you who are petitioning for Ms. Delcamp to be charged with murder along with her abuser need to be ashamed. Kicking Ms. Delcamp when she is already down in this way only shows you to be no better than her abuser, or any other perpetrator of domestic abuse...and gives DV victims even more reasons to avoid reaching out for help. If more victims die as a result of what you are trying to inflict on this already incredibly traumatized and hurting young woman, you will essentially have to live with your own share of blood on the floor.
