Disabled Veterans have paid enough! They paid with their service to our nation and to all of us! So why is it so hard for the North Texas Tollway Authority to honor those who have served this great nation?  Thousands of disabled veterans in Texas get to drive toll roads for free but not in North Texas.

Texas Legislature passed a law giving toll road operators the choice to waive fees to disabled vets.  Houston's major toll road operator, Harris County Toll Road Authority, adopted the idea and any driver with a specialty license plate showing they are a Disabled Veteran, Purple Heart, or Congressional Medal of Honor recipient will not be charged on its 119 miles of highway.

However, the North Texas Tollway Authority still does not honor our nations' Veterans. Why in North Texas we're getting dinged and charged tolls, but in South Texas we're not? NTTA says it can't waive tolls because of contractual agreements with its bondholders who helped pay for the highways. So is NTTA implying that its bondholders are telling them NOT to honor America's Veterans? Houston's toll operator says waiving the fees was an easy decision for its leaders. Waiving toll cost for Veterans is not only appropriate, IT'S DESERVED!  So, let's push to make this change! If you support our Veterans, please sign and let's show our appreciation!
