Petition Closed

To keep Benjamin Court open, and for the facilities to remain the same.

This petition had 443 supporters

The purpose of this petition is to save the existing healthcare provided at Benjamin Court Hospital, Cromer.

This petition was originally started by a patient on the ward at Benjamin Court Hospital and has already received hundreds of signatures.
Things have since moved on and we now know the Clinical Commissioning Group do not intend to close Benjamin Court completely.

However, the Intermediate Care Bed Ward is under threat as the Clinical Commissioning Group consider alternative care models.
These alternative care models will involve more care being provided in patient's own homes and a greater use of volunteer carers.
Whilst many patients would welcome more care being provided in their own home, many are too ill and require the vital rehabilitation services at Benjamin Court's 18 bed ward.

The staff at Benjamin Court provide a fantastic level of service and currently face a great deal of uncertainty.
Other services provided at Benjamin Court include outpatient treatments at podiatry and speech therapy clinics, and the future of these also remains uncertain.

This petition calls upon North Norfolk Clinical Commissioning Group to keep, or improve upon the existing services provided at Benjamin Court. The existing rehabilitation facilities and other services provide a vital, local service to the community.

The petition is also available to sign at Cromer Town Council offices and Cromer Doctors Surgery during opening hours.
