Who is Pete ? Pete is/was the man who did his best to help school children across the road at the Berkeley roundabout, he's retired and I am led to believe his position will not be replaced, somebody please tell me this is not true. Only 48% of school children walk to school the other 52% are driven there, the main reason parents give for not walking their children to school is road safety, so who in their right mind would make the decision not to replace the crossing patrol at the roundabout. This decision will make it even more hazardous than it already is for children to get across the road, and more parents will choose to use their cars to take their children to school rather than walking them, resulting in greater numbers of vehicles at the roundabout and more chaos. A crazy and irresponsible decision that needs urgent review.
