I would like to gather support for the installation of an anti-motorcycle gate, close to the entrance of People's Park, to solve the constant problem of illegal motorcycle activity, that poses a serious threat to the public. 

Park Ward has served as a magnet for criminals on stolen mopeds and high-powered machines for some time now, often driven recklessly and at high speed, with total disregard for the public’s safety,  

The cutting between Legsby Avenue and Park Drive leads directly into People's Park, an area where young and old alike should be able to visit and enjoy in relative safety, but this is not the case, mainly due to this menace. The cutting also serves nearby primary schools, secondary schools and nurseries, used by hundreds of children and parents each week.

It is only a matter of time before somebody is seriously injured or worse, unless a preventative measure is put in place, as opposed to reacting afterwards. However, the installation of an anti-motorcycle gate would solve this, as it has in other hotspots around the town.

These gates allow for cycles, pushchairs/prams and mobility scooters, but are specifically designed to prevent use by motorcycles. Such a gate would also not blight the look of the area, particularly if it was painted black, to match the existing railings.

Please could you back this cause, that could potentially save lives and drastically reduce this problem in Park Ward.
