North Carolina’s legislatures recently introduced one of the most heinous bill since the overturning of Roe v. Wade: House Bill 1232. The proposal states that anyone seeking or assisting in such procedures could face charges of attempted or first-degree murder. Furthermore, the bill aims to redefine life at fertilization, and allows the use of lethal force to defend the life of two cells including in circumstances of abortion, and could potentially excuse the murder for women who receive IVF, use emergency contraceptives, and even birth control.
