This petition is to hopefully eliminate or modify the window tinting law of North Carolina. Window tint should not be an offense if it's sold in stores. Why sale it if it's against the law? Why is it acceptable for law enforcement to ride around with pitch black dark windows but unacceptable for civilians. I feel window tint stops are just probable cause stops. I've talked to several officers who informed me that they no longer stop/ticket  people because of their window tint. A few officers even said that it's a rookie move, because being a rookie officer you have so many citations and tickets to write to meet your quota. Many other states tint percentage law is 70% all around the vehicle. That's double North Carolina's law. But yet we get pulled for anything over 35%. Everybody don't get tint because it makes they're vehicle look good. Some people have medical conditions, transporting small kids etc. But yet a K-9 Unit can have limo tinted windows because their transporting a dog around and wants to keep him/her cool? So why is this acceptable? So i guess a dog's well being is more important than a human's? So if you would like to support this window tinting modification/elimination petition. PLEASE SIGN.
