The presence of the "mega confederate flag" on exit 61 is a step backwards in our fight for racial justice and equality. The flag is on a 90-foot pole and measures 20 feet by 30 feet, which towers over drivers. As we know the confederate flag carries a negative connotation to many minority group, and with this flag being on I-95 no matter if you support or hate the flag it forces everyone to see it regardless.

We are in the midst of change in America and with that change we must move from our nations outdated ways. The Black Lives Matter movement has caused our nation to think about issues that were always present, but never acted on and this is one of those issues.
