The Issue

Well as you all may know, I sadly lost my mum in may this year, it was a sudden and unexpected loss which has affected our family greatly. This was also during the pandemic which meant we were not able to give her a proper funeral and many family members were not even able to say their goodbyes. My way of coming to terms with my mums death and coping with it (and im sure many other families will be the same) is to make sure that her place of rest looks absolutely beautiful and to make it the way we know they would have loved it. Well i have put a little white fence around my mums grave as many others have done in the same cemetery and i have also put small garden stones inside the fence to cover the length of the grave with lots of lovely ornaments etc. I recently received a letter from north Ayrshire council stating if I don’t remove these then they will remove them within 2 weeks! Ive called today and was basically told its just tough because its their ground I only have the right of burial, even though i have the deeds for the lair. There was no leeway whatsoever and im currently in the process of typing up a letter to send to them. I would really love it if you could all support me by signing this petition so that myself and others can grieve for our families and make their final resting place be as beautiful as we can make it. Thanks for reading and hopefully you can all get behind me with this. I would also like to add that i am at my mums grave every week without fail to maintain it and keep the area tidy and clean and well kept.

thanks again xx
