The Norfolk Tides rebranded several years ago without consulting their fans. They used private focus groups with poor taste who ruined Hampton Roads' favorite baseball team's image. Their main mascot is now a seahorse, and Riptide has been put on the back burner like a neglected older sibling. Seahorses aren't tides, those are two different things. The main colors are now a repulsive dark green that only those with color blindness are fortunate enough to avoid, and a bright orange juxtaposed with it. Neither of which match the deep blue that covers the stadium and encapsulates the essence of the alternate rising and falling of the sea. I urge anyone with the power to do the right thing, and return the Tides previous branding, to do so immediately. Bring the feel of Norfolk Tides baseball back to those who grew up watching their home team appear out the dugout in beautiful white and blue jerseys on cloudless summer days like knights of yore, armed with bats of ash and hickory. It's not only for the best of team, but for the best of the fans.
