Hello. My name is Joel Aaron Burrell, and I am in prison after being falsely convicted of committing second-degree murder on my father. I was made a suspect by my half-sister, who met me for the first time at my father's funeral. There is no reason I should be the main suspect. NO DNA, NO fingerprints, NO gunshot residue, NO firearms recovered, NO incriminating statement, NOR any eyewitnesses. The prosecution's story is 12 hours off from the medical examiner who testified in court, and my Verizon cellular device was nowhere near the location of my father’s death. Even though no guns were recovered, there is evidence that the gun, in this case, is linked to another firearms case that happened before my father's death. None of this information was used by my attorney in the trial. I am sharing my story in hopes of having a fair chance at an appeal. I believe if I had the resources to hire an attorney who specializes in homicides and an expert witness that could prove my location at the time of the offense, I would be found innocent of all charges. The case against me is built upon a false timeline, false accusation, and false testimonies.
