On 28 February 2026, the United States and Israel began coordinated joint attacks on various sites and cities in Iran, starting a major war aimed at a regime change. Codenamed Operation Roaring Lion by Israel and Operation Epic Fury by the United States, the attacks have targeted key Iranian officials, military commanders, and facilities. Iran named its response Operation True Promise IV (Wikipedia, "2026 Iran war").

On 4 March 2026 Pedro Sánchez Pérez-Castejón, Prime Minister of Spain, unlike other European leaders, denied the use of its military bases for US flights connected to a military offensive against Iran, leading President Trump to threaten economic retaliation (Wikipedia, "Pedro Sánchez" and "2026 Iran war").

The aim of this petition is to gain the support of as many people as only possible by the end of September this year and then send it to various international institutions with a request to officially nominate Pedro Sanchez for the Nobel Peace Prize.

Timeline:

6 March - 31 September 2026: collecting signatures in support of the petition.

31 September 2026 - 31 January 2027: search for a public figure or international organization authorized to present a candidacy to the Nobel Committee.

Let us hope that in this way in 2027 Pedro Sanchez will be among the nominees for the Nobel Peace Prize for 2026.
