Tom Chatmo started this petition to United Nations Organization (Organization) and

Xenophobia violence has been used by many perpetrators as an excuse for their failure to achieve a better life by blaming other nationals as the source and cause for their failures. We have witnessed a number of Xenophobia attacks in the last years in some countries around the World and today we are witnessing a recurrence of this unjustified Afro-phobia violent actions in South Africa.

South Africans have been involved in Xenophobia / Afro-phobia attacks towards mainly other black foreign Africans in South Africa for the past 20 years. In total over 100 people have been killed and millions of dollars worth of properties have been destroyed in the process.

Various videos have and today are circulating on social media showing this barbaric violence, people are being set on fire alive, buildings are being burnt with people inside, trucks are being burnt in the roads and a lot more since the start of these Xenophobia / Afro-phobia attacks some 3 months ago.

The South African government has called for peace and deployed police but it ends there as there is no actions afterwards to permanently stop these Xenophobia /  Afro-phobia attacks. We are appealing for all concerned individuals and organizations to help stop these attacks and create a long-lasting peaceful environment in South Africa and other countries in which such attacks will not happen in future through public awareness and other activities that teach the nationals involved to respect human rights etc..
