Good Morning and Happy Monday- I wanted to share a follow up on the petition we put out last week. We have hit 1300 signatures opposing the change of Zoning at the NEC of Lindsay and Germann. Your collective voices have made a huge impact. The firehouse, schools, and surrounding communities are becoming more and more aware of this petition. Please know, I am a concerned resident and I am putting myself out here and learning along the way. I am not an expert but I am learning fast. What I share is the best of my knowledge or have gained over the period of the last week! The voicemails, emails, and signatures have made the city require that all neighborhoods near by will be getting a notice not just those with in 1000 ft. We have also been contacted by the prospective buyer to have discussions next week about our concerns. We are also planning on holding a group collective meeting for those who would like to attend to speak to the developer. At this time- no other developers have come forward to offer an alternative option therefore the only option is: Do we allow the Zoning to remain the same (Business Park) or allowing the prosposed industrial zoning change? Whose to say a new proposal won’t come forward by May? We don’t know. The potential zoning impacts and concerns are listed in the petition. I have offered updates in the petition including the letters and plot proposal that most didn’t receive. Please continue to share with your friends and neighbors and consider signing. Our voices are very loud as a group and hold much power in future discussions. Start now before the deadline for applications of May 31. Today- the developer doesn’t own the land- this is not submitted or finalized with the city but I fully expect that on May 31, it will be. The time is now, not later. Speaking now opens doors for discussion and alternative ideas. How lucky are we that we get to be part of the decisions that shape our community?

PS- We made the Gilbert Sun news apparently
