Otsego County residents will be negatively impacted financially and socioeconomically with the continued implementation and growth of the Otsego County's Paid EMS Program. 

Costs, ie Property taxes, are already soaring at the County level, and population is declining.  The additional burden of this non-mandated program will be even more costly to residents.  Not only are there financial hardships ahead, but there are also socioeconomic properties which cannot be overlooked.  Our small communities are dying, not only economically, but also loosing their identities, and this consolidation of or elimination of local services adds to the problem.  

We do not live in a socialist country, and this program is a blatant push into this status.  We the people, the residents of Otsego, were not given ample opportunity to speak on this topic, we have not been given a full and proper accounting of this program, we have not been notified of the long-term goals of this program, OR have the people been told how the County plans on funding the program for future sustainability.

I implore you to please take action and sign this petition to stop the concept of additional tax for a service which is already paid for through property taxes on the local level.  I implore you to please sign this petition to stop the County's billing practices for services residents already receive with no additional charge under local coverage.  I implore you to please sign this petition to say No Tax No Charge for Otsego County Paid EMS Program.
